Louis Steigerwald leads a group of undergraduates from the Boone Pickens School of Geology on a research project to characterize the fault that produced the magnitude 5.6 Prague

earthquake on November 5 2011. The students will use a magnetometer to image the fault at the subsurface. Louis seeks to understand whether the fault that produced the earthquake is a previously unmapped fault splay of the Wilzetta Fault. The group will continue to collect data through the end of the year and start processing the data next semester.
